Mass Audubon’s January Programs

Are you looking for some exciting activities this January? Well look no further Mass Audubon's Moose Hill in Sharon has lots of programs!

Preschool Family Adventures Parents and children ages 3-6 - Join us each Month for a program especially designed for parents and children ages 3 to 6 years. Each month will feature new topics and include both indoor and outdoor discovery time, weather dependent. January: Honeybees - What’s the buzz in the hive? Discover how bees spend the winter and prepare for spring.Thursday January 19th, 10-11am mbr $6c/$3a nonmember $9c/$5a.

Program for Children Ages 4 – 6 OWLS - Owls are calling for mates and establishing homes this time of year. Explore the lives of owls: what they eat, how they hunt, what they sound like, and more. After learning about this amazing predator, enjoy a short outdoor owl-calling experience. It’s sure to be a hoot! Wed. 10-11:30 am Jan.25 and 1-2:30pm mbr $9 nonmbr $12

Owl Moon Program for Families with children ages 3-6 - Experience the magic of calling for owls after listening to the classic story, Owl Moon. This before dinner program is specially designed for families with children aged 3-6, but all are welcomed to attend. Sun. Jan 29th 3-4pm mbr $6 nonmbr $9.

Star Gazing Nights for Families -Join local astronomers for a look at the stars and other night objects through big telescopes. The event is on-going, so drop in for all or just some of the evening. This free program is cancelled if sky conditions are cloudy/milky or in the event of deep snow/extreme cold; call Patti Austin at 781-784-5691 x8103 after 6pm for a recorded message concerning the status of the program prior to attending. Park in the Visitor Center parking lot and follow the trail marked by glow sticks to the viewing field. This is a self-directed 5-minute walk along a wooded trail. Bring a flash light to help light your way to the astronomers. Please contact us at least 24-hours in advance if you have mobility considerations; we may be able to offer accessible parking. Fri. Jan.27th 6:30-8:30 pm Program is Free.
