Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill welcomes New Summer Camp Director
As Moose Hill camp gears up for its 68th summer, Moose Hill welcomes Shawn to the team!

“The summer is a magical time of the year because it is a time for re-charging, playing and growth” as quoted by Shawn Moriarty, the new Mass Audubon Moose Hill Camp Director and Education Coordinator. He is excited about working at Moose Hill and continuing the history of strong camp leadership. Shawn thinks that Moose Hill Camp gives kids a great opportunity to be outside with other children EXPLORING, with a hands on nature experience. It is an interactive process which generates a sense of creativity and fun.
Growing up on 120 acres of rural land in Connecticut, Shawn has always been a strong proponent of being outdoors. He has a Masters in Environmental Education and an extensive background in camp management. As a new parent, he and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of three year old Aiden, he feels he has new perspectives for working with children.
Shawn knows that the Moose Hill camp counselors are passionate about nature and they create a sense of community to share with the kids. The goal he and his staff strive for is “no matter your background, everyone comes together, treats each other with respect and care while developing an appreciation of nature that they can take home and share with their family and friends”.
