New Comic Strip T-Shirt Project Has Sharon Ties
Sharon High alum Dov Torbin created Comic Strip Tees.

People have begun wearing their love for their favorite new independent comic strip on their sleeves through a new venture with Sharon ties.
, a 2002 Sharon High School graduate, recently started Comic Strip Tees, a website offering T-shirts depicting images or full comic strips created by independent artists.
"The site will also feature a blog section, which will feature interviews, reviews, tips from pros and press releases," according to Torbin's space on Kickstarter.com.

Torbin recently told Sharon Patch he hopes to have just seven webcomics posted on the site each week, and each one for one week only.
Fans can order T-shirts with artwork from one of those seven comics that week for $20. Torbin will donate $2 of each sale back to the artist.

"It'll be good for people who don't know much about comics," Torbin says.
"They can go to the site, and every day, they'll see a new artist."
The artists that Torbin has lined up so far range from Mike Allred, known for his work on the independent comic book series "Madman"; to Omar Angulo, whose credits include "Hurricane Wilma (Or How I Stopped Hating and Learned to Love My Neighbor)," according to Torbin's Kickstarter page.
"The hardest part is (that) not all comics work well as T-shirts," Torbin told Sharon Patch.
The artists are designing the shirts, for that reason.
"They don't have to put the whole comic on it. They can put a character's face," Torbin said.
