(newsbreak.com) — Sharon has already soaked up 7.22 inches of rain from the ongoing nor'easter, putting the town near the top of Massachusetts rainfall totals. With showers expected to continue and flood warnings in effect across the region, residents are urged to watch for rising water and avoid driving through flooded roads. 
• 'It was a calmer weekend than we were anticipating.' As nor'easter tapers off, officials are relieved it wasn't worse. (bostonglobe.com) — Sharon was among the Massachusetts communities hit hardest by the nor'easter's rain, with some reports estimating more than 9 inches falling there, though spread out enough to avoid major emergencies. Local fire officials described a busy but manageable weekend of power outages and downed trees, while many coastal towns ultimately saw less damage than feared after extensive preparations.
