Police Chief: 'In Sharon, We Were All Neighborhood Kids.'

SHARON, MA — Sharon Police Chief John Ford sent out a poignant message to residents on the eve of Thanksgiving as he expressed thanks for the way the town and its residents have molded his life and embraced him as the head of the police department. "In Sharon, we were all neighborhood kids," he declared in the message posted on the department’s Facebook page.

"I am humbled and deeply grateful to you, the residents, for entrusting me to lead the fine men and women of the Sharon Police Department," Chief Ford wrote. "They, along with our awesome fire department, represent professional competence, caring and selfless individuals who are committed to public safety to the point of facing death."
