On Saturday morning July 26, 2014 at approximately 730am there will be upwards of 150-200 plus police, fire, and EMS vehicles staging at Shaw's Plaza in Sharon prior to heading out to Gillette Stadium where there will be a “Public Safety Bi...rthday Party (PSBP)” for Danny Nickerson. Danny turns 6 years old this Friday. He was diagnosed last October with an inoperable brain tumor called DIPG, formally known as diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, and there is no cure.
Sharon Police Officer Phil McEnany is coordinating the PSBP efforts with Sgt. Gerry McDonough of the Burlington PD, Deputy Chief Helena Rafferty of the Canton PD/President of Cops for Kids with Cancer, and numerous other public safety agency representatives. There will be a most impressive public safety vehicle parade Saturday morning as they depart Shaw’s Plaza inbound towards Sharon. The convoy will turn left on Moosehill Street, left on Walpole Street, and then left onto Route 1 to Gillette Stadium. For those who wish to send cards and/or show support please see the address below and send Danny a birthday card. More information will be posted during the week.
