Sharon Crashes Hours Apart Lead to OUI Charges

Police say the first crash took place at 9 p.m on Jan. 7 and the second one at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 8.

SHARON, MA - In a span of 4 1/2 hours, police in Sharon made two arrests in separate cases for drunken driving.

In the first incident, Robert Post, 58, of Sharon, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, causing serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation accordin to the Sharon Police Department.

Shorly before 9 p.m. on Jan. 7, two officers responded to a car crash with reported injuries on Ames Street. One of the drivers in the crash was taken to a nearby hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

In the second incident, police responded to a reported crash near Station and Depot Streets. Upon arriving, officers noticed two poles which were struck and a piece of a vehicle near the scene.

The vehicle was found on Massapoag Avenue with damage consistent with the crash.

The operator, Srikanth Sharma, 47 of Sharon, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and makred lanes violation.

Both suspects were scheduled to be arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Jan. 8.
