Sharon Health Department Offering Flu Shots

Sharon Health officials said flu shots are still available in town as it releases coronavirus statement.

SHARON, MA — Sharon residents can get flu shots at the Sharon Health Department as New England sits in the heart of the flu season and concerns mount over the worldwide outbreak of coronavirus.

"The flu season is just beginning to peak in MA and it is not too late to get a flu shot," Sharon town officials said in a statement on Tuesday. "It is important to practice good handwashing with warm water and soap and to stay at home if you are sick."

As of Tuesday afternoon, there were five confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States, including two in the New Hampshire affecting those who recently returned from China.

Sharon officials said reported coronavirus illnesses have ranged from infected people with little to no symptoms to people being severely ill and dying. Symptoms can include: fever, cough and shortness of breath. Symptoms may appear in as few as two days or take up to 14.
