Sharon High School Gymnastics

The Sharon High School Gymnasts continue to be impressively strong.  This year the young team has a new coach, Dyann Zenga and a new home site at Metro South Gymnastics Academy located in Canton, MA.  The girls are led by Senior captains Chelsie Noller who specializes in high tumbling and powerful vaulting and Erin Moore who specializes in graceful balance beam. Other strong upperclassman are: Senior Marielle Fisher, a strong competitor on Vault, Bars and Beam, Senior Johanna El Korry on Beam, and Junior Dagney Winner on beam, vault and floor.  The top All Around gymnasts competing every event have been sophomores Natalie Maidment with an all around high score of 36.35, Rachel Greene with an all around high score of 35.5 , and Jessica Stead with an all around high score of 33.9. Other valuable underclassman event specialists are sophomores: Pamela Greenstein and Isabelle Shapiro, and freshman: Tara Garani, Alice Herrmann, and Abigail Berish. The team record is 8 wins 2 losses with a highest team total of a 138.25. The girls have two regular season meets to go, and the Hockomock League Championships on February 8th at their home site. They have a good chance of making the team South Sectional Championships and some of the girls should qualify to the High School State Individual Championships. The meets are exciting and fun, so come cheer them on!!!
