Man Dies After Being Trapped In Machine In Sharon

SHARON, MA — A man is dead after what is being called an industrial accident Thursday morning. The victim was "trapped pretty good" inside a metal-cutting machine at InMetal on Merchant Street, Sharon Deputy Fire Chief Richard Murphy said.

The victim, who was not identified, was in his 20s.

He was freed from the machine and a medflight was called in, but then the man was instead transported via ambulance to Norwood Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration responded to the scene.
