Sharon Man Charged with Human Trafficking

SHARON, MA - A Sharon man use a residence in Yarmouth for a prostitution operation, police said.

Kenneth E. Silva, 48, was arrested Thursday by the Yarmouth Police Department. He was charged with human trafficking and deriving support from prostitution.

Police say that a short investigation between the Yarmouth Police Proactive Anti-Crime and Detective Units led to the arrest of Silva. Detectives developed probable cause that Silva was using 88 Wilfin Rd. in South Yarmouth as a base of operation for a prostitution operation.

Experts estimate that the sale of women, children, and men annually generates $32 billion internationally, police said.
