Sharon Man Faces Illegal Possession of Guns Charge

Sharon, MA — A South Main Street man faces charges for illegally owning a large number of weapons, police said.

William Walker, 45, of Sharon, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with illegal possession of large capacity firearms, illegal possession of large capacity magazines and ammunition, and possession of firearms without being properly licensed, according to the Sharon Police Department.

Police located Walker on the afternoon of June 24 while assisting a local resident. Police became aware of Walker and the possibility that he may have a large number of weapons without being properly licensed.

A subsequent investigation by Officer Patino, Lieutenant Brewer, and the Detective Division led to a number of weapons and several thousand rounds of ammunition being seized.

Walker is currently being held and will be arraigned at the Stoughton District Court on Monday morning.
