Sharon Memorial Park, the largest Jewish cemetery in New England, broke ground on a new administration building and chapel. With the addition of the chapel, Sharon will now be able to offer families the option of having funeral services indoors at the cemetery.
The modern design of the new building and it’s use of glass and natural light are intended to bring the beauty of the park’s landscape indoors. The administration building will be open six days a week enabling visitors to get prayer books and yarmulkes, directions, maps, information and assistance. It is expected that the building will open in January 2014.
“It is a very exciting time in the history of Sharon Memorial Park. This new, modern building will help to insure that we continue to provide the highest level of quality and service from generation to generation.”, said Fred Lappin the cemetery’s President.
