Sharon Named Among Safest Cities in America
A new study says that Sharon is one of the safest cities in Massachusetts and the country.
A new study shows that Sharon is not only one of the safest towns in Massachusetts, but in the entire country.
According to website SafeWise, Sharon is the 18th safest city in America. Other Massachusetts towns on the list include Wayland (sixth), Norfolk (seventh), Clinton (ninth), and Duxbury (16th).
The website says that Sharon, “is known for its scenic trails and dedication to conservation. Safety and community planning go hand-in-hand through the city Conservation Committee, which also involves the community in the allocation of resources like tranquil Lake Massapoag and the surrounding wetlands.”

Sharon, with a population of 17,935, is known for having an extremely low crime rate. According to FBI statistics, Sharon has 0.06 violent crimes per 1,000 people and only 4.24 property crimes per 1,000.
