Sharon Named Third Safest Town in State
A new study says that Sharon is one of the safest towns in Massachusetts.

A new study shows that Sharon is not only one of the safest towns in Massachusetts, but in the entire country.
According to the website Value Penguin, Sharon is the third safest town in the state and the second safest among towns with a population between 10,000-20,000 people.
βSharon comes in third thanks to dropping its violent crime total from 16 to 1 over the last 10 years. Of the top five, itβs the closest to Boston, with an express train into the stateβs most populous city, and it borders Foxborough, the home of the NFLβs New England Patriots The commuter town also boasts one of the nationβs best high schools,β the website says.

Sharon, with a population of 17,935, is known for having an extremely low crime rate. According to FBI statistics, Sharon has 0.06 violent crimes per 1,000 people and only 4.24 property crimes per 1,000.
