Sharon Police Find Man Shot, Dead In Burning Car
Sharon police said the car with an apparent adult man was found on fire on Edgehill Road near the Canton town line about 1 a.m. Monday.
SHARON, MA — Sharon police are investigating the death of a man found inside of a burning car with multiple gunshot wounds alongside Edgehill Road near the Canton line early Monday morning. Deputy Chief Don Brewer said Sharon police and fire responded to the fire around 1 a.m. to find the burning car, and inside the apparently adult man who had been shot multiple times.
Deputy Chief Brewer said the chief medical examiner was working Monday to confirm the identity of the victim. He said it is not known whether the shooting occurred in Sharon.
Brewer said Sharon police, State Police, the Norfolk County District Attorney's office, State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey and the medical examiner's office are involved in the investigation. Brewer said the car had recently been rented by another person, who has been contacted by investigators.
