Sharon Police Investigating Deerfield Road Death

SHARON, MA — Police are investigating a death that occurred shortly after the victim threaten to hurt himself.

At 10 a.m., Sharon police received a call from a Deerfield Road resident who was concerned about a roommate who had threatened to harm himself with a gun. Officers who responded evacuated nearby homes and secured the area as they learned more about the person's condition. East Elementary School was also notified of the investigation.

The person in question was found dead in the woods near his home, police said. His name has not been released.

Sharon and state police with the Norfolk County District Attorney's office are investigating.

The scene and area are currently safe.
