Sharon Police Searching for Man with Ties to Stoughton, Abington

Police in Sharon are looking for a man who they believe has ties to Stoughton and Abington.
Stephen Gillis, 36, is wanted in connection to a hit and run last weekend that took place on North Main Street in Sharon last Saturday.
At approximately 6 p.m., a vehicle with a 31-year-old pregnant female, a male, and a young child were sideswiped after another vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed crossed the double yellow line. Despite the hit and losing a tire, the other vehicle continued to travel, turning down a side street and fleeing after hailing down a passing vehicle.

The three victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation led to police identifying Gillis as the operator of the other vehicle. Currently, the Sharon Police Departments holds multiple arrest warrants on Gillis on a number of charges including leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident after causing personal injury. He also has another warrant out of Cambridge for several violent felonies.

Anyone with information on Gillis is asked to call the Sharon Police Department at 781-784-1586. Residents are advised to not approach Gillis if they see him.
