Sharon Town Hall To Open To Public For Essential Business Monday
Sharon Town Hall will open to the public for the first time since March for essential business starting Monday.
SHARON, MA — Nearly three months after town buildings were closed due to the coronavirus health emergency, Sharon Town Hall will open to the public for limited hours for essential business beginning on Monday.
Beginning Monday, the town hall and community center will be open Mondays through Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon, and Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. on a temporary basis.
Staff remains available by phone and email during business hours when the the buildings are closed.

Residents remain encouraged to continue conducting business with the town by email or telephone to the greatest extent possible. Payment, bills and other correspondence can be mailed to the respective departments and put in the drop box at the vestibule at town hall. Do not place cash in the drop box.
Officials said the limited hours and access will allowfor the opportunity to clean the premises and to keep employees and the public healthy to continue business. The access will also enable the town to comply with state guidance relative to capacity limits.

Residents are required to wear masks while in town buildings, and asked to stay home if feeling unwell. Social distancing requirements must be followed at all times. Staff will be wearing masks and practicing social distancing while conducting business with the public.
Restrooms will not be available. Residents are encouraged to pay bills by personal check or bank check. Meetings will be held remotely until further notice.
The DPW administrative offices remain closed to the public due to the inability to properly social distance staff and the public in their small space. Appointments can be made to conduct essential business. Please call 781-784-1525 to make an appointment with the respective division.
The DPW yard remains closed to the public as an online payment and scheduling system is being finalized for dumpster access and fee collection. When the online system is active, likely by July 1, drought tolerant grass seed will also be available to purchase online and schedule a pickup time.
The library remains closed to the public until June 15, when they are expecting to reopen with limited hours, including special access hours for senior citizens. There are not in-person programs or activities until further notice.
Any services that the Council on Aging will be offered, such as podiatry clinics, will be by appointment only. Residents may drop off forms during the limited hours. Please refer to The View newsletter for more information or call 781-784-8000.
Staff are working hard on plans to reopen the beaches at Lake Massapoag at the end of June. Daily block passes for the beaches will be sold online beginning at the end of June, but for those without internet access, residents may purchase them in-person during the building's limited hours. There are no in-person Recreation or COA programs or activities until further notice.
The lobby of the public safety building will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week. The health department walk-in clinic will operate from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays.
