SHS National Honor Society Inducts 43
Students hear about environmental service from Sharon volunteer.

The National Honor Society chapter inducted ita newest members Tuesday night while learning about protecting the environment.
Sharon Friends of Conservation President Kurt Buermann told that students that if their path leads to environmental service, they'll find it rewarding.
"The nice thing about environmental service is you kind of feel good when you're doing it," said Buermann, the ceremony's guest speaker.

The National Honor Society chapter inducted 10 juniors and 33 sophomores in the high school auditorium.
The chapter's board members administered the oath and candle ceremony, and presented the inductees with their certificates, cards, pins and tassels.

Publicity Chair Matthew Ostrow welcomed the audience.
Recording secretary Aayushi Mehta discussed the definition of the National Honor Society. Treasurer Vivek Nangia and Co-President Samantha Kim discussed scholarship and leadership, respectively. Corresponding secretary Isabelle Levenson discussed character, and Co-President Vineeta Nangia discussed service.
Inducted were:
Class of 2012: Marius Bernotas, Raina Bisson-Orr, Joy Gitter, Jonah Kurman-Faber, Jessica Resnick, Maria Saraf, Daniel Secor, Melissa Yuan, David Zhang and Dongjoon (Jason) Kim.
