Students of the Sharon Music Academy Swept The Top Awards at 2015 Piano Extravaganza
Young pianists of the Sharon Music Academy Swept The Top Awards at 2015 Piano Extravaganza.

Sharon Music Academy has many students who are not afraid to push themselves and play at the big stage. Literally! And we are so proud of their achievements!
Piano Extravaganza at URI is a popular and very competitive New England regional contest that attracts aspiring young pianists from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut. Last week SMA pianists had a stunning success at this annual event. In three out of four age groups our pianists Angelique Scully, Michael Karshis and Emily Youm were awarded “The Overall Best” titles and cash prizes. Four more of our students received special awards: Maggie Xu - Debussy Award for Most Picturesque Playing , Sabrina Zhang and Fiona McCally - Tchaikovsky Award for Most Grandiose Playing, and Julia Gendin - Chopin Award for Most Sensitive Playing.
A large group of our students is scheduled to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York in May and June. These students are the prize winners of the Crescendo International Little Mozarts Competition.
