Police say a SWAT team, along with officers from the state police, Canton, Sharon, and Walpole were called in to help take a local man into custody Saturday night.

Jamie McKeague, 43, was arrested and charged on a warrant with violating a protective order, assault and battery, threats, and resisting arrest.

Shortly before 9 p.m., Lt. Donald Brewer observed a McKeague enter the home of a North Main Street woman who sought to have a restraining order against him during the previous day.

According to police, the woman was previously assaulted and threaten by the McKeague and did not tell him of the restraining order due to the past threats and violance.

Brewer, concerned she was possibly being held against her will, contacted her by phone. She was able to come outside without incident, but McKeague would not respond to any attempts to get him to come out.

Metro-SWAT was contacted due to his violent history and the area around the home was secured by Sharon police officers. A small portion of North Main Street was closed during the incident.

McKeague, who threatened to kill her and any officers who confronted him, eventually left the house shortly before midnight and was arrested without incident. He is being held without bail at the Sharon Police Department and will be arraigned in Stoughton District Court Monday.
