A Taste of Sharon's Diversity this Sunday, May 21
Enjoy over 18 restaurants, cultural fairs, photo exhibitions, a festival of world music and dance!

The Sharon Lions Club and the Rotary Club of Sharon are delighted to invite you to a celebration on Sunday, May 21 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Mark your calendars for A Taste of Sharon’s Diversity –it is sure to be an event enjoyed by all ages. Admission to this event is $20 per adult, $10 for teens age 13-18 and seniors age 65+, children age 12 and younger are free. All fees during the event go to offset the cost of the celebration and the banners that are hung throughout town center.
Diversity is evident among the students in our schools, commuters at the railroad station, families enjoying the lakefront and playground facilities, and the owners and patrons of the local businesses, shops, and restaurants. In 2013 and 2015, Money Magazine selected Sharon as among the top “Best Places to Live” in the U.S., citing the town’s growing ethnic and religious diversity as a major factor in Sharon receiving this coveted designation.
With the support of the Town of Sharon’s Board of Selectman, and town and school administrators, the Sharon Lions Club and Rotary Club of Sharon have been hosting a year-long celebration of diversity. Their “gift” to the town of Sharon in commemoration of The Lions Clubs International and the International Rotary Foundation 100 years can be seen in the pole banners that are up throughout the center of town. While both clubs knew how diverse and special the Town of Sharon truly is – it is amazing to see it represented in the banners. With a limitation on the number of pole banners to hang, if a resident doesn't find a banner representing their heritage, they have not been forgotten! The "All are welcome here" banner has been hung to cover any and all cultures not shown on individual banners.

The celebration was first introduced at Sharon’s Square Jam last August and the first event, A Time for Unity was held in September on the shores of the lake with inspirational music and words from guest speakers and singers with a keynote from the esteemed Judge Charles Walker.
This Sunday, come and see Sharon High School as you never have before – global sensory delights await you. Taste our diversity in the gym and the cafeteria from over 18 different restaurants; see our diversity throughout the hallways with cultural fairs, photo exhibitions, and the hall of flags; hear our diversity in the auditorium at the festival of world music and dance; participate in our diversity with a raffle of baskets from around the world; share your experiences and show off the diversity of Sharon using #SharonCelebratesDiversity
