Youth Baseball Clinics - Sharon Varsity Baseball

Spring is just around the corner, and a new baseball season is beckoning! The Sharon High School varsity baseball team is eager to this week begin its 34th annual batting and pitching clinics for boys between the ages of 7 and 15.

Sharon Varsity Baseball Coach Joel Peckham said, “We would love to have the opportunity to teach your son better hitting, fielding, and throwing skills.”

The clinics focus on individual baseball development. On hitting, Peckham said, “We’re trying to get them to use their lower bodies when they swing the bat, hold the bat properly, stand properly – all the basics that the older kids have mastered.”

Eagles senior captain and pitcher Will Ginsberg calls the pitching clinics “awesome”, with younger players performing the same drills that consist of the varsity’s repertoire. “Doing those drills, you can try to mirror us. That benefits you in making better pitches,” Ginsberg said.

The three-session Hitting/Fielding Clinic for 1st through 6th grade boys is this Tuesday, March 4–Thursday, March 6; for 7th-10th grade boys, the Hitting/Fielding Clinic is Tuesday, March 11-Thursday, March 13 ($60). The Pitching/Catching Clinic (both positions welcome) for 1st-10th grade boys will be held on Saturday morning, March 14 ($30).
