• Trio of Falcons honored by MASCAC (sentinelandenterprise.com) — A Fitchburg State track and field standout from Shirley, senior thrower Liam Bourassa, has been named MASCAC Outdoor Track Field Athlete of the Week after big performances in javelin and hammer. His throws currently rank second nationally in javelin and 13th in hammer, highlighting a strong season for the local athlete and his Falcons teammates. 
• David Michael Bimbane (gazettenet.com) — A longtime Berkshire resident, David Michael Bimbane leaves behind his sister, Dorothy Wilbur of Shirley along with children, grandchildren, and many friends who felt like family. The 80-year-old entrepreneur and storyteller from Lenox passed away peacefully on May 9 at his beloved Lake Ashmere summer home, after recently celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary. Services were held privately at the family’s request.
