7 Open Positions For Office In Shrewsbury: Select Board, School Committee And More

Shrewsbury residents will head to the polls to vote on May 5, 2026.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury residents will head to the polls to vote on seven town-wide Office positions this May.

Nomination papers to run for office in the 2026 Annual Town Election are available. Those interested in running must return completed papers by Mar. 17 at 5 p.m.

The following positions will appear on the ballot:

  • Select Board Member (two seats) — three-year term
  • School Committee (two seats) — three-year term
  • Trustees of the Public Library (three seats) — three-year term

The Annual Town Election will take place on Tuesday, May 5. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at several polling locations.

The deadline to register to vote in Shrewsbury is Friday, Apr. 24. Voting by mail will be available for the election, and the deadline to apply to receive a ballot by mail is April 28 by 5 p.m.

Polling Locations

  • Precinct 1 Richard D. Carney Municipal Office Building - 100 Maple Ave.
  • Precinct 2: Senior Center - 98 Maple Ave.
  • Precinct 3: Calvin Coolidge School - 1 Florence St.
  • Precinct 4: Scandinavian Athletic Club - 438 Lake St.
  • Precinct 5: Sewer/Water Department Garage - 209 South St.
  • Precinct 6: Senior Center - 98 Maple Ave.
  • Precinct 7: Spring St. School - 123 Spring St.
  • Precinct 8: Spring St. School - 123 Spring St.
  • Precinct 9: Fire Station # 3 - 20 Centech Blvd.
  • Precinct 10: Sewer/Water Department Garage - 209 South St.

Town Meeting Members

Qualified candidates will have their names placed on the ballot by filing nomination papers with the Town Clerk by Mar. 18 at 5 p.m. and by obtaining 10 signatures from registered voters.

For those interested in running for re-election to Town Meeting, members were sent a letter in January to confirm their intent to run. The letter must be returned by the Feb. 25 deadline at 5 p.m.

The following precincts will have Town Meeting Members appear on the ballot:

  • Precinct 1 (8 seats) — three-year term
  • Precinct 2 (9 seats) — three-year term
  • Precinct 3 (8 seats) — six three-year terms, two one-year terms
  • Precinct 4 (7 seats) — three-year term
  • Precinct 5 (8 seats) — three-year term
  • Precinct 6 (10 seats) — eight three-year terms, two two-year terms
  • Precinct 7 (8 seats) — three-year term
  • Precinct 8 (8 seats) — three-year term
  • Precinct 9 (8 seats) — three-year term
  • Precinct 10 (8 seats) — three-year term
