SHREWSBURY, MA — The Town of Shrewsbury is recognizing the retirement of a longtime municipal employee after years of service to the community.

"If you’ve enjoyed our many parks and recreation areas, you’ve seen the results of Kevin’s hard work," town officials wrote in the announcement.

In the role, Esposito oversaw the daily operations and long-term planning of the town's parks, cemetery, public grounds, and athletic facilities. He managed staff, contractors, and seasonal crews, and oversaw maintenance planning and capital improvement work across the town's recreation department.

He also served as a liaison on park-related projects, including playground and field improvement initiatives, according to the job's description.

Esposito was involved in the Shrewsbury Trails Committee, according to the town's website. The volunteer group provides residents with information about trails in Shrewsbury so they can explore and use them.

"We are incredibly grateful for his years of hard work and the lasting impact he leaves behind," the town wrote in the announcement. "Residents are being invited to join in thanking Esposito for his contributions and wishing him well in retirement."

It's not yet clear who will take on the role, but the job listing has been posted on the town's website.

Interested candidates can submit a resume and cover letter to Kristina Ordung, Assistant Town Manager of Human Capital, at jobs@shrewsburyma.gov.
