SHREWSBURY, MA — A local high school baseball team is continuing a strong midseason run in statewide rankings.
St. John’s High School's baseball team has climbed to No. 2 in the latest Boston Globe Top 20 rankings after rebounding from an early pair of Catholic Conference losses with a dominant run of play, according to the Globe's reporting.

Saint John's High School has outscored recent opponents 34–2, a stretch that helped vault the Pioneers back near the top of the Massachusetts high school baseball rankings, the Globe reported.
St. John's Prep was recently beaten by Boston College High School, 8-4, on Apr. 15, according to the Globe. BC High currently sits at the top of the poll.

The Globe said a different team has grabbed the No. 1 spot in the last three weeks. Last week, St. John's was in the No. 3 spot and the week before it was ranked No. 1.
The latest poll also features several other unbeaten and rising programs, including Walpole, as teams across the state continue to jockey for positioning heading into the second half of the season.
The Pioneers are set to play their next game on Monday, Apr. 20, against the Algonquin Regional Titans.
