The eatery opened in Marketplace Shrewsbury, which has become a growing dining hub along Route 9. It's also home to Hooters, Nola Cajun Kitchen, MOTW Coffee and Pastries, Big Apple and other food and retail spots.

The business is owned by Wahib Abuhummous, who told the Telegram and Gazette that he has run similar restaurants in Saudi Arabia and England.

Abuhummous said he and his business partners are hoping to build a franchise, according to the news outlet.

Halal Chinese food refers to Chinese cuisine prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary laws. The menu features a “build-your-own wok” option, where customers can choose a starchy base, vegetables, protein, sauce, and toppings.

The eatery also serves signature dishes, including Bangkok Chicken, Nippon Beef, Hong Kong Shrimp, Tsunami Chicken, and Tofu Pattaya, according to its menu.
