Route 20 Closed In Shrewsbury After Serious Crash

SHREWSBURY, MA — A stretch of Route 20 is currently closed to traffic in both directions at South Street following a serious motor vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon.

Police said officers were on scene actively investigating the incident at around 3:30 p.m. Details about injuries or the number of vehicles involved have not yet been released.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to allow emergency crews to work safely and efficiently.

Officials say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

WCVB shared an aerial photo of the crash, which you can see here. It appears to be a two-vehicle crash, with an SUV's airbags deploying.
