SHREWSBURY, MA — A 42-year-old man reported missing Monday was found dead in a wooded area near the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA, police said.
The man was reported missing to Northborough police on Monday, June 15, according to a news release from the Shrewsbury and Northborough Police Departments. Officers from Northborough, Shrewsbury and Massachusetts State Police began searching for him, and a State Police K-9 located his body at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday in Shrewsbury.
Police said the body was found in a wooded area near Valente Drive and Hartford Turnpike, near the entrance to the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by detectives from the Northborough Police Department, Shrewsbury Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.
Police have not yet released any additional information about the man or the circumstances behind his death.
