Shrewsbury Names Members To Master Plan Steering Committee Among Other Appointments

Shrewsbury officials have named a new steering committee to help guide the town's next master plan update.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury officials have named a new steering committee to help guide the town's next master plan update.

The Select Board voted Tuesday to appoint two board members, five at-large residents and two alternates to the Master Plan Steering Committee. The committee will work on an update to Shrewsbury's 2016 Master Plan, a document meant to guide future decisions about growth, development and town priorities.

Select Board members Gregg Richards and Michelle Conlin were appointed as the board's representatives on the committee.

The at-large resident members are Ken Griswold, Caroline Macomber, Leah Serafin Maroney, Doug Muzzy and Shannon Wall. Kathleen Flynn and Lawrence Ondovic were appointed as alternates.

The Planning Board is already underway with the master plan update. The town has selected Barrett Planning Group as the consultant for the effort.

Committee members will attend meetings, host public workshops, speak with residents about what they want to see in Shrewsbury's future and work with subcommittees focused on specific areas of the Master Plan.

On Tuesday, the Select Board also appointed residents to other town boards and committees.

Sanjay Pappu was appointed as the student member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee, and Seana Parker-Dalton was appointed to the Community Preservation Committee.
