The Shrewsbury council has $19,600 available for the FY2027 grant cycle.

The council prioritizes projects that enrich Shrewsbury residents' cultural experience and quality of life. Eligible settings can include schools, cultural organizations, community centers, libraries, elder care facilities, town halls and parks.

Massachusetts-based individuals, nonprofit organizations, community groups, businesses and government organizations may apply. Proposed projects must demonstrate a public benefit and meet state requirements and the council's local priorities.

Eligible activities can include field trips, artist residencies, public art, fellowships, ticket subsidies and community events, according to the Mass Cultural Council. Applicants must submit applications through the agency's online grants management system.

A grant applicant information session will be held Sept. 10. The session will cover eligibility, the application process and other requirements. Applicants can register online.

Late applications will not be accepted. Mass Cultural Council recommends applying before the deadline because system delays will not qualify applicants for an extension.
