SHREWSBURY, MA — A new international supermarket will open in Shrewsbury next month.
Apna Bazar Farmers Market will debut its fourth Massachusetts location at 539-571 Boston Tpke. on Oct. 22. Doors will open at 11 a.m., the business announced on Tuesday.
"Get ready to welcome World Class Apna Bazar to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts," the business wrote in a social media announcement. "...bringing an incredible world of groceries, freshness, flavors and variety together under one roof!"
The Route 9 location was the former home of a Stop & Shop. The store was one of eight that closed down in Massachusetts in the fall of 2024.
Now, Apna Bazar plans to carry Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi groceries, including fresh produce, spices, rice, atta flour, halal meat, frozen foods, snacks, sweets and dairy products.
The grocery store chain operates three other locations in the Bay State, including in Woburn, Norwood and Lowell.
