Assistant Principal at Sherwood Finalist for Cameron Middle School Principal
Framingham parents can meet the two finalists on Thursday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the school's library.
Framingham Public School has announced two finalists for the Cameron Middle School principal position.

The two finalists are Peter Cohen and Michelle Melick.
Melick may be familiar to some Framingham families, as she taught at Walsh Middle School for nine years.

For the last seven years, she has been the assistant principal at Sherwood Middle School in Shrewsbury. The school has more than 900 students.
Cohen is principal of Stony Brook Middle School in Westford. He has held that position since July 2006. Previously, he was a social studies teacher at Lexington Middle School for a decade.

Stony Brook is one of two middle schools in Westford, and has just under 700 students.
Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott will likely hire one of the two finalists for the principal position at Cameron.
Cameron Middle school will have a new leadership team in the fall, as vice principal Stephen Manning announced he is retiring. Manning was hired in July 2011, after serving 10 years as a social studies teacher. The former vice principal Janet Fitzpatrick retired in 2010.
Four principals in the Framingham School District announced they were leaving at the end of this school year:
- Fuller Middle School principal Juan Rodriguez announced his retirement in Dec. 2012.
- Wilson Elementary School principal Robin Welch announced his retirement this past winter.
- Cameron Middle School Principal Kelley announced she was leaving in April.
- Last week, Stapleton Elementary Principal Bill McDonald announced he was leaving.
