Shrewsbury Wins $3.6M For Route 20 Traffic Signal, New Development
The money will help advance a long-planned traffic signal near Stoney Hill Road and a new mixed-use development.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A long-planned traffic signal near Stoney Hill Road and a mixed-use development are moving forward with help from a new round of state funding.
The Town of Shrewsbury was awarded a $3,676,630 HousingWorks Infrastructure Program grant to construct a signalized intersection serving Stoney Hill Road and a proposed mixed-use development at 525 Hartford Turnpike. The work is intended to improve traffic flow and safety for residents while supporting new housing and commercial space.
The intersection of Route 20 and Stoney Hill Road is currently unsignalized. The Shrewsbury Select Board authorized the town to apply for the grant in May.
