Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Friendly's is out and Borders has been closed for the past year. Where are the places in Shrewsbury to take your children from ice cream and treats? Is Dean Park the only place to take your children to for ice cream and meals?  Here are some ideas for residents: 1) How about getting a group of parents together to open a co-op in one of the empty store fronts in town that offer ice cream and treats to children and their parents? 2) If a business opens in the former Price Chopper and/or Borders, how about asking them to offer a kids space for children to play in and eat ice cream. 3) How about asking Chuckie-Cheese to take over the Price Chopper or Borders buildings? I welcome your ideas.
