Finding Bargains in Shewsbury
Robbin scours the area grocery stores to share the bargains she and her family get to help with their budget.
I enjoy doing comparison shopping for items I need to buy on a weekly basis. I found the following bargains that I felt were a good buy for my family.
1. Wegmans sells their brand gallon of milk for $ 2.39 if you have a shoppers club card while sells their brand gallon of milk for $ 2.50.
2. has a one for two special if you buy one pizza dough and get two for free. For $1.99 for pizza dough, it is a great buy. I enjoy using the dough to make either pizza or calzones on Friday nights. It is very tasty and melts in your mouth.

3. Wegmans has the best deal for generic drugs. I spent $ 4 for a monthly prescription and received a $20 food coupon. This is a great bargain considering CVS and Walgreens charge a fee (between $15 to $20 a year) to get a three-month supply generic prescription for $11.99.
4. sells chicken for $2.89 a pound as opposed to $4 a pound at two other shopping centers. Their chicken is delicious and fresh as I go every week to buy it. Also, they sell fresh pasta for $1.39 a bag that is absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth.

5. sells fresh vegetables such as squash and broccoli that is much cheaper and fresher than the three other shopping centers in the area.
6. Stop & Shop sells their brand grated mozzarella cheese for $2.19 that is much cheaper than $2.49 for a Price Chopper brand. Also, Stop & Shop sells their yogurt brand for $.45 that is the cheapest in town.
7. A tie goes to Wegmans and to Stop & Shop for selling Great Gains Cereal by Post for $3.35. The size of the box has shrunk width wide though the height is still the same.
Please note that both Price Chopper and Stop & Shop have "great deal" sales (not advertised in the weekly flyers) if you have a shoppers card. It is nice to save money at the gas pump when you use their card.
Wish List for Bargains:
1. I wish there were bargains to buy diapers as the prices have gone up. As many families are trying to cut corners, it is impossible to cut corners on buying diapers for your babies and toddlers.
2. I have not found a bargain to buy orange juice. All three shopping centers are selling juice for $3 for the Tropicana brand.
