Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Malcolm Halliday is a concert pianist, organist and conductor, who lives in Worcester. He has been the Minister of Music for 23 years at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, where he directs one of the largest and most active music ministries in central Massachusetts. He is also Artistic Director and Conductor of the community chorus, the Master Singers of Worcester. This event is free to Shrewsbury seniors and will take place on Friday, Dec. 7, at 12 p.m. Tickets are going fast so make sure to reserve your spot! You may reserve tickets by calling the Shrewsbury Senior Center at 508-841-8640 or by signing up at the front desk by Tuesday, Dec. 4.
