Parenthood - a juggling act

The juggling act of a parent

I love being a mom and feel blessed that I have a part time job that allows me to stay home with my children and make my own schedule. I wouldn't trade that for anything. But it's hard to juggle being a parent, cleaning the house, working and having any free time for yourself.  My husband and I made the decision to follow the attachment parenting style of parenting.  Its definitely hard because we are providing our children with a loving and nurturing environment and responding to all their needs, but find it hard to meet our own needs.  We have only been out alone together twice in the last year.  Maybe it's mommy guilt about leaving the kids while we are out relaxing and having a good time. I don't even think I know what that means anymore. It's just so hard to be a parent and juggle everything life throws your way.  I'm so happy that my children are loving, come to us for comfort and have a great relationship with us.  I keep telling myself that all this hard work is going to pay off and our kids will be loving and caring as teenagers that they are today (I pray).  In the meantime we will continue to do our best and hope we survive the the many years in front of us!
