Summer Fun at the Shrewsbury Public Library
A description of some of the fun FREE upcoming events for 5th-12th graders.
The is happy to announce that registration is now open for some great summer programs for youth in grades 5-12, and in some cases, their families. While participating in the events is completely free, registration is required as slots fill up quickly and facility space restricts us to set limits on the number of participants allowed at each event. Those that show up without registering will, unfortunately, be turned away.
>So You Call Yourself a Gamer? - Friday, June 22, 3PM-4:30PM
The Shrewsbury Public Library has hosted popular teen video gaming sessions in the past, but never like this one! Register for your chance to win a $25 gift card, sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts. You’ll be given a slot (from 3PM-4:30PM) and have ONE life to rack up as many points as you can. No do-overs, no excuses, and even more fun, you won’t know what the game or the system is until you arrive at the event! Due to time restraints, this contest will only allow sixteen players in grades 5-12, so be sure to sign up at the circulation desk of the SPL before space runs out! Fun fact—since video games for new systems have been in the library collection, young adult BOOK circulation has increased by almost 40%!
