Teen Manga Group Forming at the Library

If you are a young adult and love manga, this volunteer group is for you!

Are you in grades 5 -12?  Do you love manga?  If you (or someone you know would) answer 'yes' to both of those questions, the new 'Manga Madness' group is right up your alley!  The Shrewsbury Public Library young adult department is starting a new manga group, and we’re looking for members (joining is free)!  This group will help select new manga titles for the collection and plan manga-themed events to be held at the SPL.  Members who participate and show commitment to this group will be given volunteer credit hours if they need them, as well as have the opportunity to meet new people, possibly win a prize here or there, and help further shape the bustling young adult room at the Shrewsbury Public Library.  The very first meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 16th at 4:30PM in the Teen Loft at the Library.  The meeting is scheduled to run one hour, but will ultimately depend on the number of people who show up.  You don’t need to register to attend, just show up!  This meeting is a branch of SPLAT, the Shrewsbury Public Library Advisory Team - a hard-working group of over one hundred volunteers in 5th-12th grade who help shape the teen department at the SPL.  If you have any questions, e-mail the young adult librarian Dan Barbour at dbarbour@cwmars.org.
