Irving James Donahue, Jr lived by a phrase...DARE TO DREAM AND WORK TO MAKE THAT DREAM COME TRUE. He was a "goal" setter. When he set a "goal"or "dream" for himself, he always kept that dream in front of him and worked until it came true...then he would set his next dream up and work toward seeing that come into being. He DARED to DREAM and many of his DREAMS came true...Donahue Industries, Donahue Rowing Center, and these fountains were one of his "dreams". When he saw them in Michigan, he said, "Wouldn't you love to see something like this in our little town of Shrewsbury?" I (Barbara Donahue) remembered his "dream" and made it come true for him.
