Dentist Faces More Sexual Assault Allegations, Pleads Not Guilty
A Shrewsbury dentist who practices in Worcester was arraigned on more allegations from additional patients that he sexually assaulted them.

SHREWSBURY, MAāA Shrewsbury dentist who practices in Worcester was initially charged in August for allegedly inappropriately touching a long-time patient during an appointment.
Dr. Nikilkumar Patel, 55, who lives on O'Donnell Ave. in Shrewsbury and practices on Lincoln Street, was accused of touching the patient, who is 35, on several occasions. Patel was charged with Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person Over the Age of 14.
Now, Patel has pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges that he also sexually assaulted two other patients multiple times in recent years, reports the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Patel was arraigned in Central District Court on five counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14. The dentist is still practicing, and his lawyer argued that the recent allegations were "copycat."
A statement filed by Detective Donna M. Brissette says that Dr. Patel rubbed his penis against the arm of a patient twice in 2013, and also pinched and squeezed another patient's breast with his hand in 2015 and 2016, reports the Telegram.

Dr. Patel denies all the charges, and his lawyer said he is "100 percent confident these charges will be dismissed."
Patel's defense attorney Hector Pineiro said, āHe's saddened by the serious allegations that this patient has made," reports WCVB-TV,and that medical privacy laws are preventing information that could clear Patel from being released.
Patel has been a dentist for more than 26 years, reports WHDH-TV.
