“Welcome to Handbells!” a free class for new handbell ringers will be held on Wednesday evenings, September 5 and 12, from 7:30-8:30 PM, at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Rd, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. This "how to" ringing class is for anybody, adult or youth, fifth grade and older, who’d like to learn how to play bells. Folks in the local community are welcome to join in this class led by Malcolm Halliday. We will be
talking about basic ringing, learning enough about the notes on the staff and time values so that we can ring a few short and easy lines of music by the end of the second class. Depending on interest, more classes may be offered, and ringers who are ready will also be considered for membership in the Parish Pealers or Youth Ringers, bell choirs at FCC which start up later in September. Space
is limited. For more information, or to reserve a spot in the class, please call the church office at 508-845-7286 or email office@fccsm.org
