Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Superintendent Joseph Sawyer sent out a message to Shrewsbury families inviting everyone to tune in to live coverage of the first School Committee meeting of the year on Wednesday, Sept. 11. I invite you to watch the first School Committee meeting of the new school year this evening at 7 p.m., said Sawyer.  It will be broadcast live on SELCO channels 29 &amp; 329 and streamed live on the web at the <a href="http://www.shrewsbury-ma.gov/department/?fDD=20-0" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Shrewsbury Media Connection website</a>.Agenda highlights include a special performance by the SHS A Cappella Choir, acceptance of a $50,000 gift raised by the Celebration in the Garden, reports on summer programs and staff hiring, the first part of my "State of the District" report, and a discussion of fiscal guidelines for the development of the Fiscal Year 2015 budget.Please consider tuning in live or watching one of the repeated broadcasts or archived video online on the Shrewsbury Media Connection website.
