Lake Quinsigamond Hosts Boat Parade Sept. 1

The Lake Quinsigamond Watershed Association will be hosting a boat parade on Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. (rain or shine)
Boats will meet at the north end of the lake near the 290 bridge at 1:30 p.m. in their favorite decade themed boat. Parade route will begin promptly at 2 p.m. and travel south via the Worcester shoreline past the Route 9 Bridge, U.S. Marine Club Corps and Lake Park and then travel north via the Shrewsbury Shoreline to the judges station at the Donahue Rowing Center.

Worcester County Search and Rescue Team to assist with management of the parade route.
1st Place Winner - $200 gift certificate to Doug Russell Marine
2nd Place Winner - gift certificate to Shore Side Docks
3rd Place Winner – gift certificate to Madulka's Ice Cream.
Judges to include Selectman Moira E. Miller (Shrewsbury), Senator Mike Moore (Millbury), Representative James O'Day (West Boylston), Angela Snell, Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Director and Kate Toomey, (Worcester City Councilor at Large).

Founded in 1984, the Lake Quinsigamond Watershed Association (LQWA) is a volunteer-based organization of nearly 150 members committed to enhancing the quality of life in and around Lake Quinsigamond for all of its natural and human residents. It was incorporated for the purpose of restoring, preserving and maintaining the environmental water quality and recreational quality of the watershed area.
