Shrewsbury American Legion Baseball Ends Playoff Run
Post 397 falls to Wachusett to end its 2011 season.
Monday evening marked the end of the year for the baseball squad.
No. 9 seed Shrewsbury dropped its second contest in the double-elimination Massachusetts District 4 Playoffs with a 7-4 defeat at the hands of sixth-seeded Wachusett. The loss officially closes the book on the 2011 campaign for Post 397 as the team wraps up with a record of 11-13.
Just one day after falling to second-seeded Leominster 1-0 on Sunday, Shrewsbury hoped to keep its season alive with a win at Wachusett High School in Holden but came out on the short end.
