Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

SHREWSBURY, MA — The Christmas holiday has come and gone, and now you're stuck with a quickly drying tree, a mess of pine needles — and perhaps a pet cat looking to take out a few more ornaments. You won't have to put up with it for long. Shrewsbury began its annual curbside Christmas tree pickup period on Jan. 2. The annual collection will run through nearly the end of the month. Here's what to know about curbside tree pickup: <ul><li>Pickup will happen on your regularly scheduled trash pickup day during the week of Jan. 2 (ending Jan. 6) and Jan. 16 (ending Jan. 20)</li><li>Place your tree at the curb by 7 a.m. on your pickup day</li><li>Pickup is limited to one real tree per home</li><li>Trees must be free of all decorations, including tinsel</li><li>Trees must also be free of all snow and ice</li></ul> If you don't want to wait for curbside collection — or miss it — you can drop off your tree any time at the old Beal School, 1 Maple Ave., between today and Jan. 20. There are Dumpsters outside the school to collect trees.
