Shrewsbury Police Increase Crosswalk Enforcement In November

The effort is intended to improve pedestrian safety and crosswalk compliance.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Drivers can expect an increased police presence near crosswalks across town this month.

Shrewsbury police officers will conduct additional crosswalk enforcement throughout November, with assignments scheduled at random times and a particular focus on school areas, the department announced on Wednesday. The effort is intended to improve pedestrian safety and crosswalk compliance.

The assignments are funded through the fiscal year 2027 Municipal Road Safety Grant Program, which supports targeted traffic enforcement in cities and towns throughout the year. The program emphasizes a different traffic safety concern each month.
